This mod attempts to change the main interface such that the planets appear as though they are far away from each other instead of being clustered so close together. It also makes them appear as constellations of the universe. I have also included a galaxy map created ingame that has several stars and planets so as to help you get a feel for the changes. The best way to check it out is first to open the ingame map designer. Select the proteus galaxy map under custom maps and then select the preview button so as to learn the interface. I have enhanced the zoom levels, and also disabled fog of war.

Installation:

1. Unzip the directory Galactic Ui into your:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods directory.

2. Copy the Proteus Galaxy.galaxy file into your:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy directory.

All of this is for XP Users, do what ever is appropriate for Vista.

There are several stars and planets in the galaxy map. When you zoom out you will not see the tiny grey spheres as usual. To see where the different stars are zoom all the way out, move you mouse to some other location on screen and zoom all they way in until a star becomes visible. Or sometimes just by moving your mouse you will happen to come across a star or planet. If you select it you will be able to zoom in using the mouse wheel.

This mod makes use of the Trans UI mod, I do not know who created that mod because I have since gotten rid of the original zip file and as of this writing it no longer appears to be in the Stardock/Ironclad Sins Download section. So whoever created that user interface mod, please give them the due recognition. Remember, preview it first in the ingame map designer to get a feel for how it works. Several screenshots have been included to see the results.

Changelog:

Version 1.0a
Deleted some gameplay modifications that was not intended to be included with this mod. Such as the speed of the ships, research and pirate raids. They were intended to be included in another mod I am working on. This was suppose to be an interface modification only, not a gameplay tweak. Also adjusted the top bar interface to be aligned all the way against the top left of screen. Changed the starfield also, so that when using skybox's you could not see the overlap.
